I actually don't have any aesthetic qualms with this design; in fact, I think it's quite nice and I'm impressed that they got yellow material and gold hardware to function together without looking terrible. It's no small feat!
If I had a child I would probably buy this for her to be cute and stylish at school. I'm not a colorful person at all, but the colors are so bright and pretty and who doesn't love mermaids? When I was little I would always go to the beach hoping to see a mermaid only to learn when I got older that they didn't exist.
