Each day,louboutin, thousands of law enforcement officers across California and here in Siskiyou County put their badges on their uniforms and their lives on the line, said Keith Bradley, senior chaplain. They put themselves in harm s way to preserve public safety and enforce the law setting themselves as a thin blue line between the law-abiding and the lawless. Bradley stated that since the first recorded police death in 1791,sac longchamp, nationwide there have been over 19,000 law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. A total of 1,539 law enforcement officers died in the line of duty during the past 10 years, and 120 officers were killed in 2012.He noted that this year,Burberry Bags, law enforcement officer deaths are up 21 percent from 2012, with 40 fatalities. Fifteen of the 40 total deaths were firearms related and 15 were traffic related. So today, we remember these individuals and the values for which they sacrificed their lives: right against wrong, hope against fear, the rule of the law against anarchy, and yes, good against evil, said Bradley. These values are the very foundation on which this nation was built. The names of local fallen officers are as follows: Undersheriff William Radford of the SCSO died on Oct. 14, 1897; Officer Steve S. Kent of the CHP died on March 10, 1933; Deputy Martin Lang of the SCSO died on Aug. 30, 1936; Officer Gary Arthur Fitzgerald of the MSPD died on July 21, 1939; Deputy William R. Peters of the SCSO died on March 6, 1954; Chief Everett Mike Hunt of the EPD died on Sept. 8, 1972; Deputy Dale S. Rossetto of the SCSO died on July 31, 1986; Correctional Officer Rodney A. Foster of the SCSO died on Nov. 17, 1995; Constable E.E. Dixon of the Montague area died on Dec. 26, 1898; Chief R.R. Jack Daw of the Dunsmuir Police Department died on July 28,sac longchamp, 1935; Constable Joseph Clark of the Yreka area died on Aug. 30, 1936; Chief Vernon Davenport of the MSPD died on Feb. 20, 1942; Officer William M. Chansler of the CHP died on Sept. 27, 1954; Officer Jesse Bo Hittson of the YPD died on July 17, 1978; and Deputy Lawrence E. Breceda of the SCSO died on July 31, 1986. We gather today to honor the service, the strength and the sacrifice of each of these officers who paid the ultimate price to protect the people of the county of Siskiyou. Each one of these individuals is a hero, said Bradley. And to those who continue to serve every day, we say thank you.
