However, unlike other studies, which demonstrated physiological responses that coincided with symptomatic relief, when researchers in this study measured lung function in the asthmatics, the physiological response did not equal the patient鈥檚 subjective experience. The lung function measured in those who received fake acupuncture, a sham inhaler, chanel outlet, and no treatment all experienced improved lung function (7 percent), but not nearly as much as those getting albuterol (20 percent).
The Community School of Cleburne County (CSOCC) held its Open House on Saturday. Doors were opened for the public to visit the school and learn about the mission and operations of one of the county's greatest resources. Visitors were treated to delicious food and staff members were on-hand to answer any questions about the school.Although the school has been here decades, many people are just now truly discovering what an inspiring and important place CSOCC is for the community. Words such as "amazed" and "very impressed" were heard from visitors such as Mark Johnson of the Sugarloaf Heritage Council and Libby Jackson, wife of our own Sun-Times columnist Jerry Jackson.County Judge Jerry Holmes was present to present the school with a $2500 donation from corporate sponsor Southwest Energy. Other gracious donors included Red River Dodge, Payton Chevrolet, Aromatique, Senator Missy Irvin, beats by dre, Lindsey's Rainbow Resort Pot O' Gold Restaurant, Red Apple Inn Restaurant, Red Apple Golf, beats headphones, QuickSigns of Heber Springs, Charlie Evans, Patty Elmore, Dr. Brenda Gulledge, and Judge Mrs. Jerry Holmes. The school was open to all visitors and the public showed up to get a glimpse of this local treasure. In addition to an open invitation to the public,Hogan, the school sent personal invitations to local elected officials, doctors, and other community leaders. Of all the community leaders invited, few actually attended the open house. It is for this reason that special mention should be made of those community leaders that attended to show support for a local institution devoted to helping our disabled and challenged children. As he spoke some of the last words I would ever hear him say, he looked across the room at that photo, the one he could no longer see, the photo of a pretty, vanished girl. "Now I'm just waiting for the day."
